Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring all receipts are posted to tenant account or other accounts daily and accurately.
- Reviews and timely resolves discrepancy reports and deposits.
- Reconciles complex transactions and financial activities according to policies, reviews and investigates financial and accounting records.
- Maintain Utility Consumption Report.
- Enter journal entries for various transactions as necessary.
- Maintains accounting records and filing in confidential manner.
- Set up Owner and/or Agent for Section 8 as required.
- Ensures all work is completed in a timely and accurate manner, including ensuring checks are mailed timely.
- Research information in Section 8 for tenant and owner/agent.
- Release tenant holds.
- Prepare payroll allocation for staff that needs to be allocated based on the worked performed.
- Coordinates work with the controller in the preparation of financial analyses and annual reports.
- Comply with internal audit reports.
Knowledge and Skills for Success

- Knowledge of DHA organization, operations, policies and procedures.
- Understanding of and skill in applying Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
- Knowledge of and skill in applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Principles related to public sector financial administration.
- Understanding of the principles of record keeping and records management.
- Knowledge of software applications with emphasis on MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Skill in analysis and application of accounting principles and standards.
- Skill in multi-tasking and establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with DHA staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
Qualifications
- Associates degree
- Two (2) years of accounting experience
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
